Sipping a latte with my bff at our favorite Cafe in SoHo, we spot Heidi Klum and her brood strolling by for an early Sunday morning walk.
You would think that in New York you would only spot a star on the other side of a red velvet rope, with those pesky bouncers ready to pounce, however, here in SoHo is not unusual to see an celebrity walking around the neighborhood without a care in the world just enjoying SoHo like everyone else.
So please, allow me to name drop for a minute. “The sexiest man alive,” Adam Levine (According to People magazine), might be moving into a Co-op on Greene Street. He would be one of many celebrities who have called SoHo home at one time or another. Although my sources tell me, he won’t be getting accepted because the board is not too happy with people like him, “Icons” living in the building. Hmm.
Movie stars Sandra Bullock, Meg Ryan and Femke Jensen all live in SoHo, Kelly Ripa and her sexy husband, Mark Consuelos have lived in SoHo for some time. But I believe that their beautiful penthouse is under contract to be sold as we speak according to Real Estate sources.
Bon Jovi, Mike Myers, and Daniel Ratcliffe have spaces on Mercer, and of course Reality TV star Kim Kardashian and her musician husband Kanye West live on Houston street with their lovely daughter North West. Yes, I said North West.
Sometimes you can usually tell a celebrity is somewhere in the neighborhood by the massive amounts of Paparazzi lurking around the streets.
David Bowie and Iman, and also Rhiana have places on Lafayette Street, Justin Timberlake, Dakota Fanning and John Mayer also live somewhere in SoHo
Crosby Street was also home for Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz for a while. Willem Defoe, Hank Azari, Justin Timberlake, Samuel L Jackson, Rachel Weitz, Nick Denton, and Daniel Craig have also called SoHo home at one time or another.
SoHo has been a center for celebrities since those great pioneers of the 60’s and 70’s created this great neighborhood. After all this was the neighborhood where you could see Basquiat and Andy Warhol strolling the SoHo streets.
