If you are an artist (or not) who is looking for a bit of inspiration (or not), you might consider staying at the Crosby Street, Basquiat’s artist loft! I am sure that when he lived there he did not need the WiFi that exist today, but he still had to climb the four flights of stairs to get to the loft, as the building is lacking an elevator.
According to Airbnb this 2,330-square-feet loft has a massive two bedroom loft with a great big kitchen, two flat screen TV’s and lots of light. Did I also mention that it is in the heart of SoHo, Crosby Street?
Basquiat was originally from Brooklyn, and was homeless for a time before his graffiti caught the attention of local media and Andy Warhol. Not long after, he became a star of the art world. Jean Michele Basquiat’s work is in much demand this days. One of his paintings just sold for $48.8 million in May of this year, a new record for the artist. He was found dead August 12th, 25 years ago. He died of a drug overdose. If Basquiat were alive today, he would be 52 years old.
So come and live in this great loft! This property is listed for $650.00 per night.
