Wherever 50 goes a party follows
The rapper/actor and his entourage came late to the Peggy Siegal Company's party for "Scream 4" at Mr. H in thethe Mondrian SoHo hotel on Tuesday evening, but gave the crowd one good reason to stay: an impromptu striptease that had actor David Arquette reaching for his wallet.
The rapper, who co-hosted the evening, did make it to the screening of the horror film at the Crosby Street Hotel earlier in the night, where he got some love from "Scream 4" producer Harvey Weinstein.
Weinstein introduced 50 Cent to the crowd by noting that the rapper (whose real name is Curtis
Jackson), hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons, also in the house, and Weinstein himself were all Queens
boys who'd made good.
50 Cent told the audience that posing for pictures at the screening with Arquette, a star of the movie,
had upped his "street credibility."
Both men would improve on those credentials later, when they arrived within five minutes of each
other at Mr. H a little before midnight. Although it was just a couple of blocks from the screening,
which ended at 9:45, 50 Cent claimed he had been "changing" from a natty three-piece suit into jeans.
Flowing behind him like a lengthy human scarf was an entourage that included boxer Floyd
Mayweather and singer Eve.
Arquette arrived alone right after, and our source says the relatively low-key party soon took a turn
for the uninhibited.
The insider says a member of 50 Cent's entourage coaxed a hot blond female Mr. H employee to hit
the stripper pole near the deejay booth, and the woman stripped off her "Japanese-style fitted dress"
to reveal a red bra, black underwear and an array of tattoos.
We suspect this wasn't the impromptu exhibitionist's first pole dance. "She worked that thing like I've
never seen," says our source — in black patent-leather pumps, no less.
The woman wasn't completely devoid of modesty, however. When a partygoer tried to snap a photo,
she paused her performance long enough to snatch the camera out of the woman's hands, insisting:
"No pictures!"
She wasn't opposed to a tip, however. The source tells us Arquette, who separated from "Scream"
co-star and wife Courteney Cox in October, was "mesmerized" by the woman, and handed her money
when she finished her gyrations.
Arquette then spent some time "dancing by himself, with his eyes closed," until he approached
"Catfish" actor Nev Schulman and two young ladies who were with him. "He just moved in," the insider
says, and "they all just kind of danced in a circle together."
